Tema: Fire guts apartment at Abonkor Awoyo

An apartment  in the Tema New Town area of Abonkor Awoyo has been gutted by fire, causing damage to items and properties.

A number of people have been rendered homeless following the outbreak which occurred around 11:30pm of Friday May 31, 2024. 

According to an eyewitness Kwabena Emmanuel at the scene, an exposed wire in their house started the fire which was spreading quickly to other parts of the area.

“We managed to put it under control. I called the Assembly man who alerted the Ghana National Fire Service. They rushed to the scene and doused the fire. Properties have been damaged and we are calling on the authorities to come to our aid and assist us” he stated
