A timber log accident kills one person and injures another

One Feared Dead, Driver In Critical Condition In Gomoa Dabenyin Accident

One person was killed and another injured when timber logs fell from a truck onto the motorbike they were riding on.

The two were escorting the truck with the timber logs when the fatal incident occurred, resulting in the death of one and injuring of the other.

Reporting the incident on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Nana Kwame said the accident occurred in Oppongkrom, in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo Region (May 22, 2024).

He said the truck had no lights, and the two on the motorbike were escorting it and providing light for it.

One of the timber logs fell from the truck onto the motorbike, causing the fatal incident, he said.

The other victim is currently receiving treatment for injuries at the hospital.

The two have been identified as Addei Eliasu, 30; the deceased; and Mershack Acquah, 32; the one who survived and sustained injuries to the leg.

An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
