The Ghana Cocobod has responded to a leaked memo requesting the purchase of iPad keyboards for 15 board members.
The statement issued on April 1, 2024, said the decision to buy the keyboards was reached after the adoption of the “CONVENE” App which is part of efforts to reduce the use of paper and stationary during board meetings, while at the same time, enhancing productivity and collaboration among members.
However, the Management of Cocobod has not sanctioned the procurement of the keyboards, and consequently, no procurement transactions have taken place.
Social Media users in Ghana are shocked after a document requesting keyboards to be bought for board members of Ghana’s cocobod hit the internet.
Cocobod’s leaked proforma invoice dated February 26, 2024 and signed by one Enoch Tettey Martey requesting for keyboards to be bought for 15 Board Members.
According to the letter attached to the proforma invoice, the keyboard will enhance productivity and help in the comfortable use of their ipads during board meetings.
The shock being expressed is not about the keyboards being purchased but rather the price at which the keyboards are being bought by an institution that is struggling to stay afloat.
Each keyboard according to the leaked request letter will cost cocobod an amount of Ghc4,500
