Some businesses across the country are facing challenges due to the current intermittent power outages.
Speaking to Ampofo a reporter from the Oti Region on Plan B FM’s morning NKOSUONSEM hosted by Obidehye Kofi Sekyi, the reporter said, cold store owners are bitterly complaining about power outages affecting their business leading to huge loss because the lights go off without any notice from EGC and always leads to the refrozen of the stocked fish and chicken in their fridges.
He said hotel operators are also facing similar situation as some have resorted to the use of generator set instead of electricity because thay can not allow their customers to sleep in darkness and the constant heat.
The story was not different from Eastern region when Dodzie Samuel also gave a similar report that block manufacturing companies in the regions are expressing deep concern over the severe disruptions caused by recent sporadic power supply issues in the nation.
Members of the sector have highlighted the substantial economic losses incurred each time power interruptions occur during production and are calling for urgent measures to address these issues and ensure the sustainable functioning of their businesses.
Our Central regional correspondent Oheneba also reported similar situation from the region indicating that small businesses like saloons and barbering shops are also facing challenges because they solely depend on the electricity for their activities but the power could go off anytime in the middle of their work.
