Two farmers who engaged in a bloody fight are battling for their lives at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu and Assin Manso Health Center, respectively.
Information gathered indicates that both farmers, Kwame Appiah, 44, and Thomas Brekese, 57, often set fishing traps in the Ochi River.
According to Kwame Appiah, Thomas Brekese and two others confronted him and accused him of harvesting their fish while he was on his farm.
According to Appiah, Brekese told him he had set up a fish trap in the river Ochi, but the trap was empty when he returned to check.
As a result, Brekese accused Appiah of stealing the fish from his trap.
The accusations did not sit well with Kwame Appiah, resulting in a fight between them.
According to Appiah, without any provocation, Brekese pulled out his machete and slashed him.
Consequently, he also retaliated, and the two engaged in a fight that resulted in life-threatening wounds.
The case has been reported to the police station for investigation.
Meanwhile, the two persons who accompanied Brekese to Appiah’s farm are on the run.
