Democracy Hub – organisers of the #FixTheCountry movement and #OccupyJulorbiHouse protests has justified their decision to embark on a massive protest in December to demand the resignation of President Akufo-Addo.

The group in a statement dated Monday, October 9, 2023, believes that President Akufo-Addo has exhibited incompetence in his stewardship.

The group bemoaned the high levels of unemployment among the youth; coupled with the level of economic mismanagement that has jeopardized the future of the youth.

Speaking on Plan B FM’s ‘Ebaanosen’ with Ohene Kinnah, the head of Programs for the group Benjamin Darko said the country had experienced setbacks since President Akufo-Addo took office on January 7, 2017. He firmly asserted that the President has plunged the people of the country into an excruciating hardship.

“Someone needs to be held accountable for the hardship we are in now. The President should be blamed for the worsening economic situation we are in now. The president has refused to listen to our calls to reduce the size of his govt. We are being inundated with taxes yet little has been done for us” he fumed

He also accused the government of abuse power, corruption, and nepotism which he believes has contributed to the current difficulty the country finds itself.

He added that the president has failed to crap the whip on corrupt appointees. He said the president needs to sack non performing ministers to save the country from an embarrassment in the future.
