The President of the Tema Ministers Organization (TMO), Most Rev. Dr. Richard Ahiagbedey has added his voice to the current debate on the activities of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI) in the country.
He has called on Ghanaians not to throw their weight behind such acts he deem uncultured and non-Ghanaian.
“It is pertinent to note that, as a man of God i will never support, accept or condone such practices, so I will also urge everyone not to entertain such an abominable act” he stated.
He spoke to Plan B News on the sidelines of the 2023 Tema Ministers Organisation Conference at Tema Community 12 on Tuesday September 19.
Most Rev Richard Ahiagbedey expressed concern about the ongoing discussions on the subject saying nowhere in history does the Ghanaian culture subscribe to LGBTQI which is “taboo, inhuman and alien to society”.
He further added that they (pastors) will resist strongly, any attempts to impose any culture that seems to undermine the tradition of the Ghanaian.
He thus urged the government not to succumb to any external pressure in the name of bilateral relationship to approve such practices.
