Plan B FM’s family, relationship, and lifestyle show dubbed NYANSAPO FIE, hosted by Dr. Michael Asenso on the topic. “ANGER IN MARRIAGE”, with Mrs. Lady Kessewaa Nortey and Madam Mary Bright have said that anger can cause so many uproars at home.
Contributing to the topic, Madam Mary Bright a relationship counselor explained that anger can be useful when properly channeled, handled, and controlled within your marriage, but it shouldn’t get free reign over your life, because unchecked anger can create devastating damage in your relationship. If anger is a repetitive issue in the marriage, some steps can taken to better manage it.
She said It can happen because of daily hassles or annoyances. Understandably, anger can become explosive when we are involved in a conflict or when we feel we are being attacked.
“Appropriately expressed anger can lead to constructive change and can protect us when something is wrong in our lives or relationships”
She continued that, anger directed at spouses increases their anxiety, lowers their ability to trust, weakens their confidence, increases their irritability, and can harm their physical health, A cycle of anger can lead to resentment, and it can also escalate to the point of abuse.
Madam Mary Bright a relationship counselor also said although anger in marriage can be unavoidable, it’s necessary to learn how to handle it more constructively and healthily, and not in a way that negatively impacts your romantic relationship.
She added that anger can further affect affection and eventually destroy the marriage in the end because anger is a feeling everyone experiences, and it signifies that there is a situation that needs attention.
She expressed worries that uncontrolled parental anger can have negative effects on children, including poor mental, emotional, and physical health.
A parent may express their anger by losing their temper, yelling at their children, or being physically, verbally, or emotionally abusive.
