The Ghana Armed Forces has adopted the camouflage as its Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) following a review of its dress code.

The camouflage, together with combat boots, is to be worn by all ranks of the army, according to a directive from the Army Headquarters at Burma Camp in Accra signed by Colonel Opoku Agyemang

The directive gave further instructions as how the BDU is to be worn under given circumstances as well as how procurement is to be done.

“a. The BDU shall be worn for all tactical operations, exercises and within the barracks for routine duties. b. The shirt shall be worn long sleeves at all times with the collar folded as appropriate,” the directive added.

The review is to harmonize and clearly define how and what members of the Ghana Armed Forces are to wear.
