Former Ghana international, Sebastian Barnes has stated that football in the West African country is dead insisting Ghana football needs a reboot.
His comments come on the back of Black Meteors’s early exit from the ongoing AFCON U-23 in Morocco after drawing with Guinea.
Tanko’s side needed a win to pip their opponents to a place in the knockout phase but failed to live up to expectations.
Speaking to Dan K Pobi Okocha on Plan B FM, the former Black Starlets captain said football in the country is totally dead and needs to be revived.
“Ghana football is totally dead, I don’t know the kind of football they’re playing now. We need a massive change in our football” he stated
The U15 coach of German side SC Leverkusen, where he also acts as sports director proposed that the leadership must have more interest in nurturing players and revive Colts football in order to produce great players as Ghana is best known for.
“We need to go back and train the kids for youth (football) and develop Colts football either than that it will be difficult to get top players like we used to have back in the day. It will be very difficult.”
