Medical laboratory scientists perform complex tests on patient samples using sophisticated equipment like microscopes. The data they find plays an important role in identifying and treating all kinds of diseases and other medical conditions.

Speaking on Plan B Fm’s family, relationship, and lifestyle show dubbed NYANSAPO FIE, hosted by Rev. Dr. Michael Asenso on the topic “The Role of Medical Laboratory in Health Care Delivery” Mr. Edward King Kupeh, Clinical Microbiologist and Snr Medical Laboratory Scientist and Mr. Derrick Amoako-Atta Deputy Chief Medical Laboratory Scientist at the Tema Polyclinic explained that, Medical laboratories provide information and services that help to maximize the effective delivery of healthcare in today’s complex healthcare system.

Mr. Edward King Kupeh said that a Medical Lab technician ensures that the correct test is performed on the right person, at the right time, and that the test results are accurate.

A medical laboratory or clinical laboratory is a laboratory where tests are conducted on clinical specimens to obtain information about the health of a patient to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease and they are responsible for
performing scientific testing on samples and reporting results to physicians or Doctors for treatments.

Medical laboratory scientists perform complex tests on patient samples using sophisticated equipment like microscopes.

They later appealed to the general public and philanthropists to come to their aid and help Tema Polyclinic to be more equipped to ensure quality healthcare delivery.
