Dreams FC recorded a 2-0 victory over King Faisal to lift their first-ever FA Cup title in this season’s edition of the MTN FA Cup at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
Goals from Aziz Issah and Sadiq Alhassan ensured the Dawu based club an emphatic win to defeat Coach Ignatius Osei-Fosu’s side in the FA Cup competition final.
Dreams FC earlier pressure mounted on the relegated Premier League side earned them the lead on the 19th minute through Aziz Issah by making a good use of Agyenim Boateng’s pass.
King Faisal gained possession to dominate the game with some fearsome attacks on the back line of Dreams FC but goalkeeper Solomon Agbesi denied them from levelling the score before recess.
The first half ended in a 1-0 lead for Dreams FC.
In the second half, the game looked balanced before Dreams FC took over possession to double their lead on the 69th minute.
Winger Sadiq Alhassan brilliantly slotted a low-cross delivered by Godfred Atuahene to make it 2-0 for Dreams FC to seal their title winning dream at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
King Faisal tried their luck to fightback in the final twenty minutes of the game but their efforts went futile as it ended in a 2-0 victory for Dreams FC.
Dreams FC will be representing Ghana in the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup which is slated to kick-off in August 2023.
