E/R: Chief Drags Top Government Official To Court Over Ghc400K Cash

Kyidomhene of Aburi Atwiesin Nana Opare Kwafo a chief and businessman has dragged the Executive Secretary of the Public Servants Housing Loans Scheme Dr.Richard Asante Yeboah to Koforidua High Court over Ghc400,000.00 cash.

In the amended statement of claim , the plaintiff Nana Opare Kwafo explained that on 7th January ,2022,the Executive Secretary of Public Servants Housing Loans Scheme Dr.Richard Asante Yeboah approached and begged him for an amount of four hundred thousand cedis (Ghc400,000.00 ) to pursue certain activities,and promised to repay within a short period.

The chief trusted him and advanced the said amount to the defendant,however, has refused to repay the amount giving various untenable excuses.

“Months after the advancement of the money ,the defendant showed no sign of repaying same ,except to say his reasons and stories for the delay in payment kept changing with varying excuses each time the plaintiff made demands on him to repay the amount”

The chief stated that “after several months of pressuring the defendant,the defendant in October 2022 made a part payment of Fifty Thousand Cedis (Ghc50,000.00) to him”

The plaintiff is praying the court to order the Executive Secretary of Public Servant and Housing Loan Scheme to pay the amount of Ghc350,000 with interest at prevailing commercial borrowing rate from January 2022 till the final date of repayment.

He is also demanding damages ,cost of suit including legal fees and any other order(s) the court deems fit to make.

Lawyers of the defendant are yet to file response to the claims.
