Ghanaian singer and ‘Sugarcane’ hitmaker, Camidoh has been nominated in the Viewer’s Choice:  Best International Act category at this BET Awards scheduled for later in the year.

In a Facebook post earlier today, June 8, his manager, George Britton made the announcement while congratulating him for the latest feat.

“Congratulations to Camidoh n the team for the BET Best New International Act nomination!!!”, he posted.

Camidoh, real name, Raphael Camidoh Kofi Attachie, is facing tough competition from Werenoi (France), FLO (UK), Libianca from Cameroon, Raye (UK), Maureen (France), MC Ryan SP (Brazil), Paris Cooper (South African) and Nigeria’s Asake for the award.

Camidoh adds up to the number of Ghanaian artistes who have either won a BET award or earned nominations in previous years.

They are Kojo Antwi, D Black, Sarkodie, R2bees, Stonebwoy, Fuse ODG, MzVee, Kwesi Arthur and Black Sherif.

Camidoh earned considerable attention with songs such as For My Lover, Slow, Adoley andKaba.

However, the VGMA24 Afrobeats Song of the Year winner gained international prominence when he released the remix of ‘Sugarcane’ which featured Mayorkun and Darkoo in 2022.

The BET Awards is an American award show that was established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television network to celebrate black entertainers and other minorities in music, film, sports and philanthropy.
