An educationist Mr. Emmanuel Boadi has suggested that private school owners and educational authorities in the country should be more concerned about the capabilities of students not just the grades they acquire when they complete school.
Speaking to Mr. Emmanuel Baodi on Plan B FM’s late afternoon show dubbed EBAANOSEN, he told Ohene Kinnah the host that, we should be more concerned about the capabilities of students after school and make it a priority in both private and public schools on how students can help themselves after school.
Mr. Boadi stressed that the problem in the country now is “we hail students who get higher grades but can’t apply what they gained into practicality to create employment for themselves but rather they depend on the government for employment and this has contributed to the huge unemployment rate in the country”.
“Most schools especially private schools want their students to pass with correct grades so they they have connections of buying ‘apor’ for their candidates to pass well without accessing their capabilities”.
He added that, authorities must put measures in place to check the capabilities of students in the country but not just their high grades.
