Frimpong Boateng did nothing wrong- NPP communicator calls on Akufo-Addo to act on his galamsey report

Prof. Frimpong Boateng Invited as Akufo-Addo Orders Probe into Alleged Galamsey By Jubilee House

A communication team member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in the  Tema West Constituency Michael Bohyeba has jumped to the defense of the former chairman of the defunct Inter-ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM), Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng on his controversial report on illegal mining.

Professor Frimpong-Boateng on April 20 caused a stir when a report he authored on illegal mining popularly known as galamsey was leaked to the media.

The report indicted a couple of NPP officials for engaging in illegal mining activities.

Among the persons mentioned in the report included a leading member of the New Patriotic Party, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, Director of Communications at the Presidency, Lord Commey, Information Minister, Oppong Nkrumah, and a host of others.

All the persons mentioned have denied the allegations.

But speaking with Nana Yaw Abrompah on Plan B FM morning show ‘Nkosuo Nsem’ , he mounted a spirited defense to the former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation that he did nothing wrong with his galamsey report and he’s calling on the President to act and make sure that the recommendations of the report is adhered to.

”The president should put his feet down and act on the report, he should act now. If I tell you the amount of money that is being spent in the fight against the galamsey menace, you would be surprised” he stated

He went on to say that, some of his own party people are interfering and filibustering in the fight against illegal mining.

“It saddens me to hear my own people dragging their feet in the fight against galamsey. They should stop tarnishing the image of the man (Prof. Frimpong Boateng), he did nothing wrong with the galamsey report” he added
