Fire Guts Mile 7 Market In Accra

One of the deadliest fire outbreaks has hit Sofoline, Kwadaso on Friday, 13th January, 2023 in the evening at exactly 8:15 pm which has caused much damages to furniture factories just behind the Sofoline lorry terminal, few metres to Prempeh College.

The sad and heartbreaking incident occured in the absence of the workers as passengers trooped in the scene to witness such awful situation as fire flames rose higher buildings and finished goods worth millions of Ghana Cedis devoured within a couple of two hours

The cause of such fire outbreak is quite uncertain but people were contemplating that most of the workers habitually burn waste materials after their daily activities and such activities might have caused a disastrous situation which is going to affect more than 200 workers.

The rate at which the shops were burning, it took two fire fighter cars brought to the scene by the Ghana National Fire Service as long as two hours before they were able to curtail the situation from spreading to other areas.

The Ghana Police Service, NADMO and other security agencies were present and through their effort in no small ways have calmed the situation.
