The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto has officially resigned. He presented his resignation letter to President Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House on Tuesday, January 10.
He is resigning to focus on his Presidential ambition. He wants to lead the NPP into the 2024 election.
President Akufo-Addo who accepted the resignation wished him well in all his endeavours.
Dr. Akoto’s resignation comes days after Trade Minister Alan Kyeremanteng also resigned from the government to focus on his Presidential ambition.
Dr Afriyie Akoto served as a Member of Parliament for the Kwadaso Constituency in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region for two terms.
