A Nigerian was shot and seriously injured after stabbing a guard multiple times in a knife attack at the residence of Guyana President Irfaan Ali, police said on Thursday.

Police named the Nigerian suspect as Bethel Ikenna Chimezie, a 35-year-old employee at a cleaning service.
