Akufo-Addo has always been stubborn; He doesn’t heed to advise – Dr. Amoako-Baah

Dr. Amoako Baah, a senior member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), says the country is in crisis because President Akufo-Addo does not heed to expert advice.

For Dr. Amoako Baah, a case in point is the government’s announcement of a domestic exchange program after the President categorically stated that government bond holders will not lose their money.

According to him, the President’s decision to stick by the embattled Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta despite a lack of confidence in his competence by majority of Ghanaians and his own party people is shocking.

Speaking on Plan B FM’s ‘Ebaanosen’ program, he said Akufo-Addo’s stubbornness has plunged the country’s economy into a ditch.

“I’m not surprised about the behavior of the president at all. He has always been like that, he’s very stubborn and doesn’t listen to anybody” he told the host Ohene Kinnah.

He also cited the decision to retain Prof. Mike Oquaye as the speaker of parliament after the 2020 elections following complaints from NPP MPs to replace him which the President did not listen.

Dr. Amoako-Baah further accused the minority side of parliament of not doing due diligence following the passage of the 2023 budget.

He said he expected the Minority to fiercely protest the passage of the 2023 budget but instead they allowed it to be passed smoothly.

He believes the Minority side of Parliament are in bed with the Majority side to rip the people of Ghana apart following the approval of the 2023 budget.
