Police prevent group from protesting at Parliament, Nat’l Cathedral site

Police Debunks Report Of Arrest Of Former Sports Minister
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Leadership of Justice for Ghana says they have put on hold their planned picketing at the Parliament House and the site for the construction of the National Cathedral in Accra.

The suspension of the protest comes after police secured an application from the High Court to restrain them from embarking on its scheduled picketing.

“We note with concern that this is the second time in about a week that the Ghana Police Service is seeking to use the lawful processes of the Court to prevent Justice for Ghana from exercising our constitutional right to picket,” the press release dated December 5, 2022 and signed by Selorm Dramani Dzramado stated.

He further expressed disappointment in what they described “as bad faith exhibited by the police in this matter and the attempt to curtail our democratic right to picket.”
