Stop The Sale Of Food Items Or Face Our Wrath- Concern Drivers To Agric Ministry

Stop The Sale Of Food Items Or Face Our Wrath- Concern Drivers To Agric Ministry
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Paa Willie, National Chairman of the Concern Drivers Association of Ghana, has said the Ministry of Food and Agriculture’s sale of cheap food items is a waste of time.

He claims the exercise is unsustainable and futile.

He stated that the most important thing for the government to do is to reduce the cost of fuel, as this is the main factor influencing food price increases.

To him, what the ministry is doing would have served a better purpose during the dry season or when food is scarce.

Paa Willie stated on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that the government is on the same mission to destroy the businesses of Ghanaian traders as it was to collapse banks and other financial houses.

He claimed that the exercise was designed solely to paint the traders in a negative light. These traders are not selling their items at exorbitant prices on purpose. The price increases are being caused by the rising cost of fuel.

We are informing the Minister that what he is doing is unnecessary, ineffective, and a waste of time. He should focus on providing fertiliser to farmers. What he is doing will be futile.”

He stated that we are giving them a two-week deadline to stop or they will embark on an exercise to encourage the traders to stop selling so the Ministry will take over.
