Two Killed for Defiling 10-Year-Old To Death

Two people were killed by mobs for molesting a 10-year-old child to death in Ede-Obala, Nsukka Local Government Area in Enugu State, NAN reported.

The two suspected ritualists were cremated.

An anonymous source told the Nigeria News Agency (NAN) that the girl’s lifeless body was found in the bushes with her breasts and private parts removed.

“The townspeople are worried that the ritualists have invaded the community. Only ritualists would rape a girl to death and harvest her vital organs for their evil deeds.

“So when the residents heard that the perpetrator of the clandestine action had been arrested by the neighborhood guard, they all rushed to his office.

“The crowd overwhelmed the security forces and arrested the two ritualists who killed the girl, set them on fire and watched them burn to death,” the source said.

The source added that police tried to arrest the suspects but were overwhelmed by the crowd.

This incident was confirmed by the President General and the members of the Council representing the community, Wal Omeje and Higin Ogbu.

While police have yet to issue a statement about the incident, eyewitnesses said the suspects were members of the public.
