Ministers in 22 West and Central African countries yesterday met in Accra to strategize on how to enhance learning (education) in their respective countries.

The meeting, which is being spearheaded by the World Bank, was meant to discuss and adopt a new education plan to improve learning outcomes in the region.

The education plan, expected to be implemented from 2022 to 2025, requires government and society to prioritise education for all children of school-going age.

It is hoped that governments in the region would allocate significant financial resources towards implementing the strategy, to ensure that 30 million children in the region can read and understand simple tasks by 2030.

Mr Mathew Nyaba an educationist and a lecturer at the Gambaga College Of Education speaking to Ohene Addo on Plan B Fm’s Ebaanosen said that the right thing must be done for a positive result.

He said that the education system in AFRICA needs a serious Adjustment and the step been taken by this ministers will help a lot.

He also said that “I hope that their the new style been designed will include more of production and manufacturing education, because that one of the things the people of the western world enjoy that we do not “

He concluded that Education is the bedrock for the development of every country so our leaders should make sure to fix the educational system.
