The Spanish Embassy in Ghana is set to officiate same sex marriage in June. The month is set aside by the LGBTQI+ community as pride month and this has necessitated the Head of Missions, José Javier Gutiérrez Blanco-Navarrete to conduct a special the same sex marriage ceremony between Spaniards and some Ghanaians.
The embassy has requested the permission of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration (MoFARI) to officiate same sex marriage in the country.
Mr Isaac Amoah convener for Journalists’ Against Lesbians, Gays, Bisexual, Queer and Intersex plus (LGBTQI+) speaking to Plan B Fm’s Ebaanosen hosted by Nkosuo Hene regarding the matter, stated that he wished to inform all well-meaning Ghanaians and the general public of a letter they have intercepted that clearly states that same sex marriages have been legalized to be practised within the Spanish Consulate in Ghana.
“The Spanish Consulate have requested our Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration whether their legalisation extends to their territory within the country. In a document cited by the group indicates the Spanish Ambassador is in preparation to officiate same sex marriages in Ghana.”
He also said that the only way Ghana will be free from the demonic activities of the LGBTQI community is by passing the Anti LGBTQI+ bill, but the Akuffo Addo led Government don’t seem to care about what Ghanaians want and that’s why they have refused to take the needed Action to stop the activities of these people.
“The Journalists’ Against LGBTQ+ calls for quick intervention of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, we further caution the American Embassy, Spanish and Danish Consulates to put a stop to the hoisting of LGBTQI+ flags and their decision to extend their barbaric act in their supposed territory in this country.”
“We are therefore requesting the Sector Ministry to closely monitor the operations of the aforementioned missions and take prompt action to know that we DO NOT and IN NO WAY would welcome their deeds”.
