The Minister for Education Yaw Osei Adutwum has assured Members of Parliament that, the West African Education Council is committed to the conduct of credible examination and will continue in pursuing efforts in dealing with all forms of examination irregularities that threaten the entire education system.
He said stringent measures are put in place to curb the widespread of leaked examination papers.
Among the numerous strategy outlined, the Education Minister stressed that, the Council will solicit support of the National Intelligence Bureau and the National Security for deployment of persons to augment security in its operation for 2022.
In Authority of this Bohyeba Afriyie of Plan B Fm had an eloquent with Mr Mathew Nyaba a lecturer at the Gambaga College of Education and an educationist and here is what he had to say about the Minister’s stringent measures that will help curb the widespread leakage of examination papers.
He revealed that corrupt people are the ones who indulge in examination malpractice and the measures will partly curb malpractices during examination.
He said that the ministers measures is limited to during Examination but leakages starts weeks before examination and it comes from the WAEC Office so they should also make sure people who have access to the questions before are competent enough to be able to withstand bribes that will compel them to release the papers.
He commended the the Minister for making an Attempt to curb examination malpractice in Ghana because the country’s development depends on the education sector.
