Ashiaman-Akosombo Highway Dualization Takes Off

The dualization of the Tema-Akosombo highway has taken off following the contractor mobilising to site for construction work to begin.

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, cut sod for the construction of a 64-Kilometre road project which was expected to cost some €256 million.

At a brief but colorful ceremony held at Shai-Hills on June 1, 2022, by the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Shai Osudoku District Assembly, Fred Ofei to officially welcome the contractors of the project, INZAG GmbH of the Federal Republic of Germany, to mark the commencement of the road project.

The scope of the project encompasses the construction of a two-lane dual carriageway and two-lane services road from Ashaiman to Sebrepor.

Additionally, there would be a two-lane dual carriageway from Sebrepor to Afienya, a two-lane dual carriageway from Afienya to Kpong, and a two-lane single carriageway from Kpong to Atimpoku.

The project will also see the construction of an interchange at Asutuare.
