Wa Flogging: Angry Youth Besiege Police Station To Demand Release Of Arrested Colleagues

Some angry youth in Wa, the regional capital of the Upper West Region, Wednesday night besieged the regional police command to demand the release of their arrested colleagues in connection with the flogging of two lovers whose self-taped sex video leaked.

More than 300 youth hurled stones, cudgels and other crude weapons at the police station and its officers as they demanded the release of their colleagues.

They also burnt tyres during the rumpus.

A team of more than 100 police officers, led by regional commander, DCOP Peter Ndekugiri, used more than two hours to ward off the irate youth.
