Track, Arrest And Fine Prank Callers To Serve As Deterrent To Others- Security Analyst

Track, Arrest And Fine Prank Callers To Serve As Deterrent To Others- Security Analyst
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Ministry of National Security says over 10, 000 calls came through it emergency call line in less than two days after launching a national campaign to fight terrorism.
Shockingly, the Ministry revealed that majority of the calls received are prank alerts.

The “See Something, Say Something” campaign is aimed at soliciting information from the general public on suspicious activities of terrorists in Ghana.

In authority of this Nkosuo Hene of Planb Fm had an interview with Mr Samuel Appiah a security analyst on Ebanoosen and here is what he had to say about the numerous prank calls recorded in
“seesomethingsaysomething” Emergency Call Center.

He revealed that the National Security Ministry anticipated that they will take recipients of said prank calls but still went ahead despite the risk they identified and he thinks what they should do now is to implement the measures they have in mind to use when they start receiving the prank calls.

He said that if they have not thought of what to do then what he thinks will be best is to track, arrest and fine them so it serves as a deterrent to others who have plans of doing same.

He concluded that the “seesomethingsaysomething” initiative is a good one but terrorism intervention must be more operational.
