Ghana’s U-20 national football team, the Black Satellites will face Mexico later today at 3pm in the first game of the Maurice Revello Tournament (formerly known as Toulon Tournament) in France.
Karim Zito’s men have been preparing in Marseille with 22 players ahead of the competition.
The tournament reserved for a select U-20 teams in the world, makes its return this year after the 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Fifteen years after their last participation, Ghana are back at the Maurice Revello Tournament for the 2022 edition. Placed in Group B with Indonesia, Mexico and Venezuela, the Black Satellites will be looking to improve on their seventh place finish from their last appearance at the tournament in 2007.
The Black Satellite were knocked out of the WAFU Zone B tournament as defending champions, missing out on a place in the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations and the World U-20 World Cup.
The Black Satellite’s first game is against Mexico on May 30.
