The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has taken notice of infractions by some Petroleum Service Providers (PSPs) who have engaged in illicit third-party trading of Petroleum products and has accordingly applied and the requisite sanctions.
Mr Sampson Addae Head Of Pricing and Research COPEC In an interview with Bohyeba Afriyie on Plan B FM’s Ebanoosen in response to NPA sanctions stated that the NPA could do better.
He stated that the sanctions could be more heavier so it pushes the victims totally away from the Act. But looking at the amount they have been asked to pay they will continue to indulge in such act because they will make much more money than the sanction fees.
He concluded that the NPA so far is on the right track but must take their suggestions in to consideration and any company that fails to comply with the rules and guidelines stipulated moving forward the National Petroleum Authority must subject them to more sanctions.
