Sad News rocking the camp of the ruling New Patriotic Party is very had to bear. A great icon is gone. The biological son of the departed MP called Eugene Mensa confirmed the news in a Facebook post as attached to this article.
” The late Honorable Prince Oduro Mensah, dad may your soul rest in peace ” Eugene wrote on Facebook with pictures of himself and his late dad.
Honorable Prince Oduro Mensah was a two times member of Parliament for the ruling New Patriotic Party in the Techiman South Constituency. His biological brother Mr. Kwame Busia who is also an NPP Chairman for the Asabia Electoral area akdo confirmed the sad news on radio.
According to him, he never heard of his brother’s sickness nor ailment only to be told that he has died.
Another NPP stalwart in the Bono East Region Mr Kwasi Korang also shared the sad news on Facebook.
“Prince Yaw Oduro Mensah has truly joined his ancestors. He paid his due to those of us who were privileged to pass through his hands. Very disciplinarian, strict for a purpose and very frank. He taught English Literature at Chiraa Secondary School for sometime before he went for further studies and later on he became a solicitor and a barrister. A former MP for the Techiman South Constituency between 2001 to 2005. C.E.O, Ghana Sports Council. An ardent fan of Kumasi Asante Kotoko who could travel from Chiraa to Kumasi to watch Kotoko against other teams. Prince, you had a manly and a proud heart fare thee well.” NPP’s Kwasi Korang also confirmed the sad news on Facebook
Honorable Prince Oduro Mensah was the NPP member of Parliament in the year 2000. He won his second term in the year 2004. That made him an MP for two times until he exited in 2008. After 2008, President John Agyekum Kufuor appointed him as the Chairman for the National Sports Council. His tenure in office saw the upliftment of basketball and table tennis in the country.
