The Public Utility regulatory Commission has issued a statement on last night’s nationwide blackout.

Lights were taken out in most parts of the country between the hours of 7 and 8pm on Saturday May 7, 2022.

Several people have expressed displeasure with the unannounced power outage.

Below is the full statement from the  PURC:

Power supply from GRIDCO to NEDCO is currently down thereby affecting distribution in the entire Upper West Region.

Efforts are underway to identify and fix the problem and resume supply.

While asking for your understanding on this, PURC is assuring the general public of its close monitoring of the situation.

Thank You.
