The Ghana Meteorological Agency has warned that there will be high tides in the coming days along the east coast of the country.
Head of Central Analysis and Forecasting Felicity Ahafianyo said some areas along the east coast must take measures to mitigate the impact of the tidal waves.
“Especially the east coast those around Keta, Aflao, Ada, Akatsi but the West Coast, for now, is free except that we could have a rainstorm that is moving, so far the rainstorm to their end is not active. Once we have the high tides it brings in water where people’s houses get flooded…”
Tidal waves this month have rendered many homeless again in Agavedzi and some adjoining communities in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region.
This comes barely four months after hundreds were left stranded in some coastal communities in the Volta Region last year
Dozens of people are also counting their losses at Akplabanya in the Ada West District of the Greater Accra Region after tidal waves flooded parts of their community.
