The Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources will soon start a house-to-house audit of water consumed in houses across the country. This the Ministry says will be done with the Ghana Water Company Limited, GWCL.

Sector Minister Cecelia Abena Dapaah who made this known to the media in Accra said the water audit will inform both the Ministry and GWCL of those who do not have access to water among other challenges affecting the citizenry.

”The Ministry is collaborating with UNESCO to undertake an assessment to determine the extent of water quantity and quality of
Groundwater resources in Ghana”.

”Measures are continually being implemented with the view to improving the protection of our waterbodies from unregulated activities of small-scale miners (‘galamsey’) and illegal gravel/sand winners”, according to the Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources Cecelia Abena
