Thieves and armed robbers have different strategies for attacking their victims. Armed robbers in particular use weapons and sometimes don’t hesitate to shoot at their victims. A robber has been grabbed and lynched at Fijai in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region.

The deceased, twenty-four-year-old Nana Kojo Dua has adopted a unique strategy in carrying out his activities. According to some residents who reported the issue on Takoradi-based Connect FM monitored by Beanana, the deceased has been dressing like a roman father to deceive people who barely know him.

He is alleged to have recently carried out a robbery where he went dressed as a catholic priest and snatched the vehicle of another Catholic Priest. The whereabouts of the vehicle is still unknown. Members of the community have been targeting him and wanted an opportunity to grab him in the act. Fortunately, he went for a robbery operation in the early hours ofWednesday, April 6, 2022, but he did not succeed this time around.

The angry mob followed him and grabbed him whilst in action and subjected him to severe beatings. Nana Kwaku Dua who is popularly known as Power could not survive the beatings and gave up the ghost. The angry mob dumped his lifeless body at the house of his mother later and left the scene unidentified.

Assemblymember for the Fijai Electoral Area, Ramatu Ibrahim indicates that she was informed about the sad incident and immediately rushed to the house of the deceased. According to her, she saw his lifeless body lying in a pool of blood. She has since informed the police to convey the body to the mortuary for Autopsy and investigations.

The mother of the deceased, Auntie Yamoah expressed dissatisfaction with the action of the mob. According to her, they could have informed the police to take action if they caught her son stealing and should not have taken the laws into their hands. The traumatized mother added that she witnessed the entire beatings of his son. She called for help and nobody showed up to assist until her son could not breathe again.
