U/W: Sachet Water Price Increased by 50%

Price Of Sachet Water Increased By 20 Pesewas, Bottled Water By 50 Pesewas As Operators Blame High Taxes

colleague producers in Wa and in the meeting, the Chairman, Alhaji Toyiba Mahama, proposed that they review prices based on some Economic factors such as increase in fuel prices by the Government.

A bag of Water is currently being sold at Ghc5 by some producers away from previous Ghc3.50.

It can be recalled that in July 2021, price of a bag of Sachet Water was increased from Ghc3 to Ghc4.50, after several agitations and threats to import water, prices dropped from Ghc4.50 to Ghc4.00 in September, it dropped further to Ghc3.50 after water was Brought inn from Kulmasa in the Savannah Region.The producer, Delicia Mineral water was selling at Gh2.50 by then. 1000 bags of  His water was Brought into the Region by Some Residents and as a result, he received threats from producers in Wa including Producer of Happy Life Mineral Water, only identified as Philip.

Some Producers have resisted the 50% increment from Ghc3.50,  Ghc3.00 to Ghc5 and have maintained their Prices at Ghc4, they said the price of fuel has necessitated their increment by Ghc0.50 and  Ghc1 respectively .
