The Free Senior High School Secretariat has received the school placement data from the Computerized School Selection and Placement Center on their Senior High School enrollment system and ready to release the placement to enable parents and students prepare adequately for admission into the various Senior High Schools in the country.
Placement of students into the various Senior High Schools is expected to be released on Sunday, 20th March, 2022 to enable students complete the enrollment process on time. Previous years, students spend two to three weeks in the academic calendar to go through the enrollment process, this is to give them ample time to prepare.
Some students may have to go through self placement system to enable them choose from the list of the available schools, since their raw scores did not match with any of their schools selected, such students were not place in any of the five schools selected for placement. Schools in the self placement portal are first come, first serve. The number of available vacancies based on program and residential status reduces as students place themselves in the school, as the school achieve its maximum capacity, the school is taken off from the self placement portal.
Students can also be enrolled into their schools of choices through the protocol and special admission system, the protocol admission is a percentage given to the school to enroll students from the Land owners, Old Student’s Association, PTA and the School Board of Governance. This admission system is five to ten percent of the school declared vacancies for the new entrants. Students enrolled through the protocol admission are referred to as special placement on the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).
The academic calendar has been well structured to allow all the year one students to stay in school at the same period, the double track has not been abolished, the tracking system has been re-structured to allow two year batches to stay in school at the same time that is first year students in school with the year two while year three students go on break.
Parents have been advised not to engage any person who may promised them to change their placement, such individuals are fraudsters. Parents should report anyone who will ask them to pay a fee for their placement to be changed. Call center numbers will be released as soon as the placement of students into the various Senior High Schools are out, parents are advised to communicate with the Free Senior High School Secretariat through the call center numbers that will be released along with the school placements.
