Black Market Business Is A Major Cause Of The Free Fall Of The Cedi- TAGG
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Members of the Traders Advocacy Group Ghana (TAGG) have expressed worry over the long silence of Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia over the free fall of the cedi.

President of the Traders Advocacy Group Ghana speaking to Plan B Fm’s Bohyeba Afriyie on Ebanoosen stated that :

“We are demanding reasons why our exchange rate has increased because in a less than a quarter of the year, the cedi has depreciated close to about 50 percent and we are expecting the Vice President to speak on the current free fall of the cedi”

He added that there are other things to work on help solve the depreciation problem like banning of the black market, releasing of reserves and updating of the shipping rate quarterly.

He concluded that the the current exchange rate is pushing people out of the business sector and must be urgently attended to.
