The Managing Director of the State Transport Company, Nana Akomea, who was formerly the Director of Communication of the governing New Patriotic Party, has castigated the government for wasting the taxpayer’s money just to select some representatives to travel outside and vote in favor of the resolution of UN to condemn President’s Putin latest actions.
It is worth noting that 18 African countries abstained from this voting process. However, Ghana, Kenya, Gabon, Rwanda, Djibouti, Somalia, Congo and Dr. Congo were the seven countries who voted “Yes”. Randy Abbey explained that although the UN has passed the resolution, it will not change the decision of President Putin.
Reacting to this, Nana Akomea described that travel to vote as a complete waste of money.
“It is total waste. If we were to do an audit of official travels in the fourth republic, and to see the direct benefit we have had as a country, we will be scandalized. Some of these votes you are going to take, you know it is meaningless, why bother yourself on it?”, Nana Akomea explained
