Medical Practioner, Doctor James Acquah of kesse okai Hospital Tema in an interview with Nana Konadu Okontie on Plan B FM’s Apomudenfie detailed the explanation of cervical cancer and it’s Associates
Doctor Acquah defined cervical cancer as a malignant tumour of the cervix, the lowermost part of the uterus or a malignant tumour of the lower-most part of the uterus (womb) that can be prevented by PAP smear screening and a HPV vaccine.
He revealed that Cancer is one of the fast spreading disease and so must me treated with emergency when diagnosed with any form of cancer.
He also said that Cervical cancer is very common in Ghana and it is even that bad than
breast cancer .
He listed some of the Symptoms as severe Pains in the cervix, experiencing more than one menstruation in a month and stinky discharge of fluid from the cervix Pelvic pains.
He said that the virus that causes cervical cancer is called Human papilloma virus and this virus is transmitted through the male sex organ to the female sex organ and then builds up cancer in the cervix of the female and so females must practice the safe and selective sex style.
He concluded that cancer can not be managed at home so immediately you start seeing the the signs he disclosed earlier you should treat it with emergency by going to the hospital and requesting for a Pap smear test or the Human papilloma test so that you save your self from severe cancer or death.
