Government Has Proven To Be A Listening Government- Educationist

Government has gone back on its earlier directive for basic schools to run a semester-based academic calendar

A statement from the ministry of Education said the directive for basic schools including kindergarten and junior High school to change the trimester-based calendar to semester- based one last week which was controversially received by all other stakeholders.

The Government has released a statement that says that it has reversed it earlier decision.

In Authority of this statement released plan B Fm had an interview with Mr Mathew Nyaba a lecturer and an educationist who said that he is very much proud of the Government for this action taken.

Mr nyaba in an interview with Bohyeba Afriyie on plan B FM’s Ebanoosen indicated that the Government in this regard has proven to be a listening Government.

He said that stakeholders were more agitated because there was no form of consultation by the GES they only got to know about it when it was published for all Ghanaians and he thinks this statement coming from Government will make all very happy.

He also said that there’s a least to do to match our education sector with other developed Countries all we need is more facilities because our learning style is one of the best.

He concluded that the controversial initiative was too much especially for basic school level.
