Mr Samuel has said that what happened in Apiate is as result of lack of supervision of the mining division in the western by the Government representatives there.
Mr Samuel in an interview with Bohyeba Afriyie on Plan B FM’s Ebanoosen revealed that what happened in Apiate could have been prevented if the rules that guides transporting such dangerous chemicals was adhered to.
He listed that the vehicle that was used to transport the chemical is not the appropriate vehicle , he explained that the vehicle that is used to transport this type of chemical has lining in it that if there should be an explosion it will prevent it from reaching outside.
He said that vehicles that transport such chemicals must always be escorted front and back to avoid any type of road accident.
He also said the Driver on board must be one who is abreast with issues about the chemical.
He indicated that municipal chief Executive and police commander must be either transferred or forced out of office because what happened simply depicts that they failed to take responsibility as leaders.
“Informations reaching us is that this chemical is always transported carelessly and this means that the MCE does not do what is required of Him, they sit aloof and this people go about their work how they want it to be but not what the country demands of them because of lack supervision, Analysis and review from the MCE and the Regional police commander.”
He concluded that the IGP failed as a security personnel when he visited and walked around the place of explosion, that place must be barricaded for about three to four days .
