Local Government Boss Collapses In Office, Dies

A senior official in the Ministry of Local Government on Wednesday afternoon collapsed in his office and was declared dead shortly after being rushed to Nakasero Hospital.

Lawrence Banyoya, the Secretary of the Local Government Commission was declared dead by doctors at Nakasero Hospital at around 3:00 pm after he collapsed in his office at around 2:00 pm.

Banyoya who was declared dead at 3pm had on Tuesday held several meetings in Kampala.

Banyoya together with the Minister for State for Local Government Victoria Rusoke and other members of the Commission met the Public Service and Local Government Committee of Parliament.
