Report convened has it that the Member of Parliament for Lambussie Constituency in the Upper West Region last night along with other motorists survived a robbery attack on the Bole – Bamboi stretch of the Techiman – Wa highway.

According to reports, though, no one was harm during the time of the said robbery operation.

It is not clear where Hon. Bright Baligi was headed when he unknowingly joined about ten other vehicles that were stopped and their passengers robbed of their money and other valuables by a gang of five robbers.

An eyewitness account said the robbery attack happened around 9pm on Tuesday night and that it took the timely intervention of the police escort of the lawmaker to salvage what could have turned out to be a fatal situation.

Wa-based Sungmaale Radio have also reported that after realizing danger, the MP’s bodyguard fired some warning shots which made the robbers to abandon their operation and run into the bush.

All the vehicles moved afterwards to nearby Banda Nkwanta where a report was lodged with the police. Attempts to get Hon. Bright Baligi to speak to the unfortunate situation has not been successful at the time this report was filed.
