Mr kwesi Nimo Jnr. Public Relations Officer of African Education watch has said that Ghana Education Service should have discuss their new policy with all stakeholders before publicizing for all Ghanaians to know about it.
Mr Nimo in an interview with Bohyeba Afriyie on Plan B FM’s Ebanoosen revealed that if they are not wrong then initiation of the new semester system is a new means the Government is using to communicate to Ghanaians that Double track system in the secondary cycle education is now permanent.
“The reason we are given is that the want a match between secondary cycle semester and the basic cycle but we all know that the semester system in SHS is as a result of the Double track system which was initiated temporarily to solve a problem which the Government has promised to pull out of the education system so if they are initiating this policy to match something which it cause will be pulled out soon then it means Double track will be made permanent “
He said that their only point is that GES must come out to point out problems the current system is facing.
He concluded that all stakeholders must be consulted if possible schooled because this is very sensitive.
