Yesterday, the majority caucus in Parliament led by the Honorable Member representing the Suame constituents, Honorable Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, reliably released a letter that revealed that the Speaker of Parliament, Right Honorable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has been travelling outside without giving the President pre-notice. Their reason being that, since Bagbin is the third in command, it was necessary for him to inform Nana Addo of his travels. The majority questioned Alban Bagbin for the import of that.
However, a letter circulating online has stated a different facts. The letter was from the Office of the Speaker to the Office of the President dated 6th January 2022. In the letter, Alban Bagbin stated boldly that he will be absent from Ghana from Friday, 7th of January to the 23rd of January 2022 since he will travel to the United Arab Emirates to undergo his medical review. He also stated the date of resumption of parliamentary sittings which is two days after he returns from the UAE. So does this mean that the majority was misinformed, spoke without facts and evidence, or intended to peddle falsehood about Alban. See letter.
