Anointing Oil Bottles Is The Cause Of Fires On The Mountains – Nkawkaw Fire Service Officer Says

Anointing Oil Bottles Is The Cause Of Fires On The Mountains – Nkawkaw Fire Service Officer Says
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The PRO for Ghana National Fire Service in Nkawkaw, DO III Kwakye Addo has hinted at one of the major causes of fires on the Kwaku mountains. Kwahu is a mountainous area over the years, fire outbreaks have been recorded on the mountain

He disclosed that containers of olive oil (anointing oil), used by pastors on the mountain causes these fires. Most men of God and Christians, like to go up the mountain to pray as this creates a serene environment for them to pray.

DO III Kwakye explained that when the bottles are left there for a while and get heated by the sun, it breaks and sparks a fire. He advised that after the oil have been used, the bottles must be buried in the earth to prevent such incidents from happening.

He added that ritualists who also go up there to pour libation should also do away with the bottles when they are done. Some pastors argued that this has not been scientifically proven so they are not sure how true this is.
