A motor rider who has been identified as Johnson Owusu has been confirmed dead after he was rushed to the hospital this morning. Johnson was driving on the O. A. street which leads to the Maxwell Road at Fante New Town when he met his untimely death.
From reports, Johnson Owusu was crossing By His Grace Beauty salon junction when a tipper truck which was coming from the opposite direction crashed him down. Salifu Adizza, a porridge (Koko) seller at the junction, narrated to the police that, Johnson was not looking ahead of him when he crashed into the tipper truck.
He was greeting someone when he arrived at the junction. There was a conversation between him and a commercial (trotro) driver. They seemed to be friends so he was responding to the trotro driver while riding.

Johnson sustained injuries to his legs and head. His head hit the steering of the bicycle while the legs went under the front tyres of the tipper truck. His legs were all damaged and would have been amputated even if he should have survived the accident, eye witness stated.
Johnson was taken to the Komfo Anokye teaching hospital where he was confirmed dead at 7 O’Clock this morning. Johnson was on his way to complete a tiling job, according to Charles Owusu, the trotro driver who was engaging him in a conversation before the accident.
