A 78-year-old landlord by the name of Samuel Oduro Brobbey has lost many properties after his 14 bedroom house caught fire in Kumasi Tafo Ahenbronom. Nine out of the 14 rooms were completely burnt. One of the rooms is used as a Herbal Medicine shop and some others as a warehouse where foodstuffs are kept for distribution.
All of these items were utterly destroyed. According to Mr Brobbey, he went to his hometown and upon returning came to meet such a disaster. However, he mentioned that he is not greatly disturbed not because he has lots but when he considers the implication of death, he is grateful to God that no life was lost.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire started from the Herbal medicine shop and started spreading to the other rooms. The Fire service personnel when called upon arrived there in a short while and tried to contain the fire from spreading to other unaffected rooms and houses.
With that, they were able to put out the fire although it was initially very immense. The Landlord consoled and encouraged his tenants after the fire was put out.
